Waymo looks like the future, just as Uber did years ago. Soon, another vendor will come along to be the future in personal transportation after negative news arises about Waymo, as it did with miscreant Uber drivers.

Hannah – one flaw in your article is there are people who do not hate their commute. I commute 25-30 minutes each way in Jacksonville, FL. I relish the time to be alone with my own thoughts or listening to PGA Tour Radio or NPR to get caught up. It gives my time to gear up for the day in the morning and wind down in the evening. We have a little traffic in Jax. Not like DC or LA, but a little and I skillfully navigate through it. As long as I am physically capable of operating a car, I have no interest in self-driving vehicles. But check back with me in 20 years when my skills deteriorate.
