San Antonio All Industry Day Planned for Nov. 16

The Alamo Chapter CPCU along with the South Texas Chapter of RIMS will present An All Industry Day in San Antonio on Nov.16, 2005.

The theme of the all day venue of speakers and presentations is “Technology- Friend or Foe.” The event includes a variety of topics geared to all insurance and risk manager professionals to keep them abreast of current events and provide Continuing Education credits as approved by the Texas Department of Insurance.

The event will take place at the Embassy Suites located at 7750 Briaridge in San Antonio.

Morning speakers include:
–Barbara Bufkin from Argonaut with an overview of the aftermath of Katrina and the impact on the insurance marketplace;
–Audrey Selden from the Texas Department of Insurance will talk about the latest developments in the Texas Legislature and their potential industry impact;
–Brad Wiewel, Attorney at Law, on what every consumer needs to know about Identity Theft; and
–Jack Armstrong from Liberty Mutual will talk about what to expect when the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act expires at the end of this year.

Two tracks will be offered in the afternoon sessions – one geared toward croperty/casualty attendees and the other track for all other insurance and risk manager professionals.

Speakers in track one include:
–Clifford McCarter from RIMKUS who will talk about Low-Speed Vehicle Collisions;
–Steve Frause from RIMKUS who will speak on Construction Defects; and
–Dennis Mollenar from St Paul Travelers who will end the day with a talk on Employment Practices Liability.

Track two has two speakers: Jim Jez from St Paul Travelers who will speak on Ethics, and John Dickson, from the Denim Group who will offer a talk on Systems Security.

Lunch will include a conferment ceremony for the new CPCU designees of the Alamo Chapter.

Both half day and full day sessions are available, with full day sessions offering up to 6 hours of Continuing Education credit.
