As a person with a prosthetic limb I admit that I have a vested interest in plans covering these costs. The cost of even the least expensive limb is as much as a car, but there is no coverage at all in many plans. The majority of people can’t afford them. This is not a luxury item where the individuals have a choice. In order to carry on with life these many individuals need some help. What else can be done?
