Homeowners coverage must really be a big profit center to justify the judicial and legislative environment that PC insurers choose to endure in Louisiana.

I am sure that PC actuaries can establish
a sufficient rate increase in La. to cover the warranty issues with imported dry-wall, but what is really essential is that the policyholders in Louisiana shoulder the entire burden of these costs.

I’d like to see legislation in all other states prohibiting insurers from transfering any La. costs to the premium calculations elsewhere. Additionally, insurers should be prohibited from reducing surplus to pay for this La. folly.

Yea, this would likely result in domestically domiciled carriers exclusively writing La. risks, but that is what the La. Courts and Legislature
    seemingly desire.
