Agents like this give the industry a bad name. I wonder if he gambled his money away at the boats and resorted to fraud with the markets. Very unfortunate.
That’s why California goes in with the State Police and Local Police departments, close the agency and seize all the paper and computers, take it out and then examine the records. The last agency I saw closed was raided by 15 police officers in bullet proof vests, 6 DOI personnel in bullet proof vests, and a representative from the District Attorney’s office in a bullet proof vest.
Wow. California doesn’t mess around with Insurance Agents. I wonder if they do the same with Drug Dealers and people harboring illegal aliens. I also wonder how long they will have the resources to do this since the state is bankrupt. They may have to use 5 Police Officers, 1 DOI personnel and 1 assistant DA on future raids due to budget cut backs.
CSP: too bad the police officers in California would be defenseless against someone with a gun. What are they carrying now, jalapeno strength pepper spray?
One would think there wouldn’t be a lot of danger involved with going out to shut an agent down. This guy was obviously desperate and had reached the end of his rope. This is a very crazy world we live in and people are acting irrationally, especially when they are in dire financial straits.

I feel terrible for the families, but how were they “brave” they were insurance investigators, not cops or firefighters here…
