Johnson to Lead Oklahoma Insurance Agents Group; Ramsey to Retire

The Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma named Denise Johnson to lead the association upon the retirement of long time IIAO President/CEO Dan Ramsey.

Johnson will join the IIAO on June 1 and take over the leadership role on Sept. 1.

Johnson has served IIAO in many capacities over the past few years as a volunteer and will be able to capitalize on that experience as she prepares to lead the organization, the IIAO said.

In a statement released by his office, Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak congratulated Johnson on her appointment, stating: “Denise is an excellent choice for this position. Her career with the ECI Agency in Piedmont and her background as IIAO’s first chairwoman gives her a unique insight into the issues facing Oklahoma agents. Under Denise’s leadership, I know IIAO will continue to grow and meet the diverse needs of Oklahoma families. I congratulate her on this exciting new chapter.”

Doak also praised Ramsey “for his countless contributions to the IIAO. Dan has been an amazing leader, mentor and industry trailblazer. His countless efforts over the last 15 years have been instrumental to the independent agency system.”
