H.W. Kaufman Financial Group Acquires New Orleans Site for Burns & Wilcox Center

The Michigan-based specialty insurance organization, H.W. Kaufman Financial Group, has acquired the Cox Communications Building located in the greater New Orleans area. As part of the acquisition, the building will be rebranded as the Burns & Wilcox Center and will house the Burns & Wilcox New Orleans office location.

Burns & Wilcox, a privately held specialty insurance wholesaler, has supported the New Orleans region for almost 30 years.

Burns & Wilcox will occupy more than 20,000 square feet in the recently acquired building, which is located at 2121 Airline Drive in New Orleans (Metairie). The six-story, 125,000 square-foot facility was previously owner-occupied by Cox Communications, who will continue to inhabit some of the office space.

The building is located near the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport with direct access to downtown New Orlean. It currently has 50,000 square feet of available Class A office space.

Kaufman acquired New Orleans-based specialty insurance broker B&F Specialty Risks Inc. in December 2015, which is now a part of the Burns & Wilcox New Orleans office.
