I never understand why folks that live in areas subject to flood will not transfer the risk and instead wait for a government bail out…..I think I just answered my question.

Shouldn’t most all houses in this area with a mortgage have been required to have flood insurance? What am I missing?

Shouldn’t mortgage companies already have force-placed flood insurance on most of the houses with a mortgage?

2016 Louisiana Flood “VICTIM” I have lived in the low lying areas my entire life, this property has been in the family for hundreds of years, NEVER once has anyone EVER flooded here. yes, all around us, but never on this property, a 90 year old house was just demo’ed, first time its ever flooded. Out of the 8 homes located on the property, I am the youngest & do have flood insurance. Guess who has not been paid, and has not been able to start any process on repairs to my home. That would be me, the one with insurance. Now, does that answer “wait for the government to bail out”? If I didn’t have insurance, I would have already been paid and could possibly have a home for my children for Christmas!!!, or any day for that matter. Sorry to be harsh but facts are facts and this is reality proven once again.
