Being a huge cynic here, but it probably is because they no the system and abuse it. Or they are stupid and don’t follow safety rules.

The article can be restated as follows: The first injury was a test of the system. The second and subsequent injuries were calculated to take advantage of the holes in the system. Most companies overload the wc adjusters with 250+ claims. No way to manage a claim. Just pay. The DWC is quick to punish companies for minor infractions, but very lax in going after claimants, doctors etc for obvious abuses of the system. Plaintiff attorneys are just waiting to file discrimination claims against employers. There are solutions, but no backbone in the legislature to change the statute.

Better not mess with Texas Mutual. They prosecute people trying to milk the system.

Discrimination in employment was outlawed in 1964 – Civil Rights Act. No reason it should not be enforced.

If you are a stoner drug head, you don’t deserve employment by any responsible employer.
