Really ???? !!!!! You cannot be serious. THC stays in the body for 30 days.

So, are you agreeing with the court decision? Or, are you arguing that on the 29th day after someone smokes pot, the effects could cause an accident?

I absolutely disagree with the courts decision. Unlike alcohol, which has measurable impairment levels, no one can say when someone is impaired by detectable levels of THC. Any detectable level should be considered proof of impairment. Any level, no minimum. And please, don’t roll out that old canard about second hand pot smoke. And yes, given the uncertainty of impairment, if THC is still detectable, an accident could be the result. What would be next, a minimum level for cocaine?

I adamantly disagree retired. I do this because alcohol can stay in your urine for up to 3 and a half days. Does this mean that those who get very drunk on Friday not be ready for work on Monday due to their heavy drinking? No, they will still be okay with that much amount of time in between. One is only impaired by cannabis (without using again) for about 5 hours. If one smokes at night they should be ready for work in the morning. Both are drugs that impair people. Regulate them both the same. Also in lieu of it being federally illegal, make it regulated and legal in order to produce a device similar to the breathalyzer. There will be a huge market for a device like this.

            Polar–

denying the harmful effects of alcohol makes you either pathologically dishonest, ignorant, or both. I’ll let you pick. There are literally thousands of studies out there touting the dangers of alcohol consumption on pregnant women, minors and adults. Even the Bible warns against it, yet it’s ok with you because it’s legal and marijuana is for “stoners”. Please take two seconds and go on whatever non-biased search engine you use and educate yourself.

            Yogi,
We all appreciate your ignorance on this subject. Alcohol has no long term lasting mental impairments? Wow! Hey, at least we all know we are either dealing with a dishonest poster or an uneducated one. Alcohol absolutely has long term lasting mental impairments. Just the fact it kills brain cells alone is an example. Keep being you, Yogi. You’re quite, ummm, astonishing.

            Polar,

Did you read the Harvard study I suggested to you so you can start to figure out fake news from your biased based news? I know the effects that both can have and alcohol can have long term lasting mental impairments as well as a worse short term affect (blacking out, vomiting, and death).

You failing to understand science and the truth about the dangers of both alcohol and cannabis should not be your justification for your blatant ignorance.

“Alcohol doesn’t have long-term lasting mental impairment effects on people to the same degree as pot.”

            Agreed. Alcohol is much worse.

Minimum level of cocaine? I don’t know, let’s ask Wall Street. You cannot compare those two drugs. It’s like comparing apples to lost cost multipliers. No way can THC impair someone even the day after, let alone 29 days after. Please read about solubility and then come back to the class once you’ve educated yourself. Pro-tip, look at the difference between the solubility of alcohol and THC.

Wow, I’m glad to see a rare case of common sense winning out over the PolarBear/Craig type of trolling. Unfortunately, until there’s a way to detect marijuana use within the last couple of hours, these kinds of tests will be irrelevant. I’m so happy to see people actually critically thinking in this comments section.

      People I disagree with: “trolling”.

Another deep thinker chiming in on the IJ pages. (Too much THC, Jerry?)

Hey, how can I get people I compete with to smoke more pot? Any thoughts from the pot fans?
