FEMA Extends Deadline to Apply for Hurricane Ida Assistance to Nov. 29

Louisiana residents seeking disaster aid from Hurricane Ida now have until Nov. 29 to apply for assistance.

The Federal Emergency Management announced that the deadline to register for individual assistance has been extended an extra two weeks from the previous Nov. 14 deadline at the request of Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards.

Assistance is available for individuals and families in the parishes of Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Washington, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.

FEMA assistance can cover rental assistance, temporary housing, home repairs, personal property losses and other disaster-related needs not covered by insurance.
