As a former native of the Magnolia State (I left for a lot of good reasons), I have a few comments and questions:
1. Its a shame what the lawyers and their bed fellows, the politicians of both parties have done to the legal system not only in MS but all across the U.S. They prey and feed on poor, ignorant people that have a sense of entitlement that \”By God, somebody owes me something and I\’m, going to get it\”. Now with Lott and his brother-in-law feeding at the same trough; don\’t look for things to improve soon.
2. Beyond tort reform that is certainly needed; when will the politicians begin work on a workable national health care insurance system that is desperately needed?
3. Finally, what about our biggest insurance crisis of all; insuring that Social Security, Medicare and our pension plans will be there when we need it?
Just a few vitally important questions that we\’ll probably never get answers to.

I hve no idea how being republican became such a god-like status and democrats are the devils-incarnate. But he is your guy, and you gotta dance with the one who brung ya! He was pro-business until the shoe is on his foot. How many times did the good Senator vote for bills on Federal Flood Insurance? If he thought flood was covered by Homeowners why did the government have to get into the flood ins business. He knew it was not covered but is too weak to accept the consequences of his ignorance.
I am by no means a fan of Senator Lott\’s however in all fairness we must recognize that he did have flood insurance on his property. What he is seeking is compensation for damages beyond the limit of the flood insurance policy because his home sustained wind damage prior to the flood damage. The problem with that is that the wind damage cannot be quantified because in many places there is only a slab left to inspect for an insurance carrier. Scuggs team makes a novel argument that but for the damage caused by the wind the water would not have caused such extensive damage. It has some merit but damages still can\’t be quantified. What can an insurance carrier do in that situation other than rely upon the opinion of experts. If the experts are less than credible or being manipulated to report something other than the truth they should lose their license to practice their profession. I find it somewhat disconcerting that in the midst of this disaster executives at some of the major carriers have been permitted to walk away with golden parachutes and retirements. They may never have to testify regarding their actions related to this matter but their reputations will be stained with the demise of their credibility in the eyes of their employees and colleagues.
Igonance is bliss look all policitians are crooks plain and simple we force that now in the way we elect them -no decent person would run for any office in today\’s America. You are a typical cry baby liberal dem or rep. So is lott and yes hypocrit as well-in the old days tar and feathers would be his new attire.
