North Carolina Urged to Reduce Beach Plan Coverage, Cap Insurers’ Liability

    “It is going to result in a further increase of premium for people to be adequately insured on the coast,” said Charles Evans, an attorney in Dare County and committee member. “I don’t think we are addressing fairly and comprehensively what we need to be doing.'”
    Mr. Evans: People who live in coastal counties face an increased exposure to lossess..so they SHOULD pay more!
    Thank you Rep. Goforth for your proposal. It’s sad that corruption in NC led to your idea being rejected. The members of the Board of the Beach Plan would hate to see their own vacation home insurance go up-can’t have that.

    so, if i own a hummer w/all the do-dads in it, my premium should be no different than someone with a vw bug, simple little vehicle. um..um… wonder if they think like that when it comes to auto insurance… afterall, did they want to replace the home with an outhouse vs a valued home?
