The Greenbriar has been an expensive and snooty old piece of history that was frequented by many national organizations for conferences and conventions at premium rates. It’s out in the middle of nowhere, and has had its share of problems.

The article neglected to mention several labor unions that called a strike a couple years ago demanding more benefits and compensation. Coincidentally, a suspicious fire severely damaged the place. One would think that people living in rural West Virginia would be damn happy to have a job much less call a strike causing the cancellation of numerous events and the defection of customers to another resort nearby. Maybe Marriott will be able to correct the problem.
