It seems as long as the ambulance chasers get paid, all is well with the world. Hmm, could this affect insurance pricing, do you think? More comedy/tragedy in Florida.

As a licensed 220 and haveing binding authority with many direct writers can I use myself as the contact person for the companies declining coverage and then also sign the diligent effort. I can not find any clear defination on this. I would think if I have binding authority and know the underwriting I should be able to sign as representative not eligible. Please clarify if contact person must be someone at the company or if agents with binding authority can sign the section showing contacted company and list reason not eligible. Your assistance is appreciated. Charlene Hartshorn, agent

Even if that was the case it would appear under the regulation you would be prohibited from competing with or replacing the coverage currently written or quoted with an admitted carrier.
