Glad I planned that great Palm Beach getaway for the summer. Looking forward to the beautiful views of oil slicked birds and oil booms. Maybe we can spray some ridiculously toxic “dispersant” on it so it just sinks and isn’t visible anymore? “Since you can’t see the oil, it must have disappeared!”

You can stop buying suntan oil soon. Just take a swim and then lay out and get a nice tan courtesy of BP.

Trying to stop this leak is like trying to put a cork into a volcano. They don’t have the technology to deal with it properly. Man has been over confident in his perceived dominion over this earth. This could change the ways about how man uses the earth’s resources.

you are wrong when you say oil spill. It is a huge gusher from a hole in the earth ,like a huge water main break but much worse.

The lanuguage of this article is typical. It is just scary speculation full of “could”, “might” and “maybe” as usual. Tell me about it when it DOES HAPPEN!

Our media is full of this stupid scary speculation crap at the moment. Look, this guy saw an opportunity to get his name in the media, so he took it. He did not have anything concrete to say, so he just speculated.

You know what, that Oil COULD end up in Europe. IF it lands on the beaches in Spain it will ruin the economy there – which relies mainly on tourism during the summer months. This spill MIGHT ruin Spain’s economy, unless you all hide under the bed sheets like scared children and never say boo to a goose. Oh, and pay some Carbon taxes please.

    blah blah, same old crap.

    Be scared of USSR communists.
    Be scared of nuclear attacks.
    Be scared of AIDS.
    Be scared of Cancer.
    Be scared of Climate Change.

The message from the media is always the same old crap, “BE SCARED”. You know why? Because people who live in fear are easy to control.

All those people yelling “Drill, Baby, Drill” have been very quiet lately. Looks like this environmental disaster has exposed their foolishness….

I don’t have a problem with drilling. Any type of advancement of any sort involves risk. Flying jets, going to the moon, developing other sorts of power, mining, manufacturing, all of it has risks. Where would the world be if everytime an accident occurred, you stopped all production of any new technology? Figure out what happened and take safeguards so it won’t happen again and move on. We still need oil. Think of the tens of thousands of wells and platforms operating without incident. Dwell on the good, fix the bad.

Who needs food! With progress we can go to the moon and get the milk from the famous moon cows.

    Or may be not?

“Tell me about it when it DOES HAPPEN!”

Okay, yesterday there were reports of tar balls washing up on the beaches of Key West, Florida.

Where the heck is Obama! All I’ve heard him talk about is who’s going to pay for it! This is a disaster. Talk about horrific response time. Sickening.

“Okay, yesterday there were reports of tar balls washing up on the beaches of Key West, Florida.”

You’ve just proven the original poster’s point. These balls of tar – after testing – were proven NOT to be from the BP spill. Scare tactics..be it from the left or the right…always work.

The question isn’t whether or not there is risk… the question is whether or not the outcome of the risk event is too great to move forward. Just because there is risk doesn’t mean we say… oh well, no risk no gain. We have an opportunity to say… yep, there is risk and we need to not move forward. Stop offshore drilling. The risk to our environment isn’t worth it.

All comments aside, both BP and the Feds are seeking all sorts of complicated solutions to solve the oil slick problem in the Gulf. With aall the hi-tech tools thse days, I ometimes I think we tend to overlook low-tech solutions. A case in point is a demonstration I recently saw on TV conducted by two fellows who spread plain old hay on a pan of water into which oil had first been poured. After a few moments, the hay soaked up the oil and was easily skimmed off for proper disposal, leaving clear water behind. The fellows also explained that this method would continue to work even after the hay drifted onto a beach or into a marsh, where it would still absorb oil until retreived. We have lots of hay in this counrty – maybe we should try it.

None of the posters have observed that crude oil is an all natural, organic product with no man made alteration. That makes it good doesn’t it?

It seems to me anyone who voted for Obama as exposed their foolishness….

Last I heard Obama was meeting with the girls basketball team shooting hoops in the back yard of the white house. Hoping no one will realize he is the president and has to take charge.

this communist community organizer is so far over his head it isnt funny!
