NC needs a viable candidate for insurance commissioner. The state remains in the dark ages when it comes to property insurance where rates are set by the insurance commissioner and supreme court… regardless whether they are adequate or not. Open competition and modernization are sorely needed in the state. Perhaps Mr. Causey can bring about this change.

We sure do need a Commissioner that listens to the citizens of NC and responds with unbiased political agendas to what is going on during his watch. Goodwin is completely oblivious to protecting the citizens of NC. He spends lots of time and money running down individual citizens for scamminga a couple of thousand dollars from big insurance companies but you let a group of promenient well to do agents have a field day with insureds moneys through fraud and forgery and he turns a blind eye, Slaps them with a 50K dollar fine per agency and the DOI audits show that between the four of them they defrauded insurance clients out of over 131K in just a little over a year …WHAT”S UP WITH THAT BS ? What about the forgeries ? Now since the citizens are filing claims at the local Police Departmentsthe DOI is ruunning interferrence for the agents saying that they have already handled this ! Well I think not ! The forgeries were in no way addressed in this settlement and I do not thinkThat the outcrys of the public should be ignored ! This is totally political..with this DOI it’s “if you got the money we got the time” !

Does this guy not understand that what he proposes is actually WORSE for the consumers? He wants insurance “Reform” by handing over the rate setting authority directly to the insurance companies and away from the elected officials. Companies would be able to raise rates up to %10 at a time without the commissioner being able to do anything about it. Does he not realize that NC has one of the lowest auto rates in the country already? Causey…a three time loser that we don’t need.

Open competion Rick…really?…seriously? I guess over 160 companies doing business in NC’s property market means nothing huh? That’s more companies in one state (property wise) than 46 of the other states…even those that have considerably higher populations than NC. Come on.
