four kids, on an ATV, on the road? I don’t think it is the laws that need refining, it’s the PARENTING SKILLS that need upgrading.

The gray area needs addressing by our State but under Title 63 : Motor Vehicles and Traffic Regulations, it clearly states “No ATV/ORV allowed on any public road opened to licensed motorized vehicles or on powerline/pipeline right-of-ways.” One might argue that this only applies to State Parks?? Maybe the law has changed??

Where were the parents when these for children got on this atv and let them ride on the road. I think the gray areas will always be around. Yes the atv’s are dangerous, as any moving vehicle, I rode motorcycles on the street for 25 yrs, with out any accidents, but you have to be safe, watch for the other guys. i love to ride atv’s on the farm sometmes you have to use the road but not very much.just think safe and be safe thanks and happy riding.

I agree with Wesley Brewer, if there is such a big difference in weight and speed then we need to get ride of motorcycles. I personally own a sport atv (2005 Yamaha raptor 660) that goes 75 to 80 mph and weighs a little over 400 lbs, but yet we allow sport bikes on the road that weigh the same and can exceed 200 mph. IMHO I believe that they should allow atvs, with the proper lighting, horns etc.,to be road legal just like a motorcycle.
