So, Gov. Bryant “supports a free-market based method of delivering health insurance products to consumers.” Just to be clear, as a matter of public policy, I would counter that it’s immoral for for-profit enterprises to make money off the suffering and bodily infirmities of American citizens. This is particularly so with respect to the “insurance mechanism” as a dominant funding model for delivery of healthcare services. It’s a colossally useless and wasteful process that sucks 35% out of every dollar spent on healthcare.

If Gov. Bryant “supports a free-market based method of delivering health insurance products to consumers” then he should support setting up a state run Exchange, because that Exchange uses PRIVATE insurance companies. This political grandstanding is so frustrating!

A Republican who understands the law – how refreshing. And, just FYI, it will still be the law after the November election…
