We have become the United States of no consequences. those same people that can’t afford to pay flood insurance can afford to. Have a cell phone, buy cigarettes and liquor.
I can understand helping those out who lost a home or have a home that is unlivable with some assistance for food and shelter. But with insurance available and these people not buying any for their own benefit, aren’t we just encouraging them not to buy insurance?
How about having some home/flood insurance. Why do we need a ‘disaster fund’?
