I have attempted to pull off a copy of the new PIP satute in Florida without sucess. It apparently drastically changs the benefits offered and their delivery. Previously, a claimant could direct that all of his PIP benefits could be used to provide wage replacement if he had other health insurance coverage. I wonder if this bill makes that impossible, but I have no way of learning the bill’s contents. As an adjuster, this is a very important matter.
AS an adjuster, I have attempted to pull from the website a copy of the new PIP statute without success. The old law (current until 1/1/13) permits a claimant to designate that all of his benefits can be used to replace wages lost during medical care for accident-related injuryies. Is that permissable under the news statute? In an effort to prevent fraud, I worry that other helpful provisions of the bill may be sacrificed.
