I must state that I am very confused by why someone would eat a moldy candy bar in the first place. One would think that you would look at the product before consuming it, but wait we have all seen the lovly pictures of walmart shoppers so I guess nothing should surprise me.
She needs more than a receipt. Prove you were sick. Let’s see the emergency room bill and report, the moldy peanuts, toilet bowl reminants, Some sort of proof!
She worked there? She was probably the one responsible for properly aging stock.
Open your eyes, as well as your mouth when you are eating and look at what you eat. Good thing I am not on the jury…NO “PAYDAY” (as in candy bar) for her.
Reminds me of the Diane Keaton movie, “Looking for Mr. Goodbar.”
Although, had she been looking AT the Mr. Goodbar, she might have checked the Expiration Date for herself… you know, that ol’ “personal responsibility” mantra that no one takes seriously anymore?
REALLY? This is like the frivolous McDonald’s “Hot Coffee” case. She couldn’t tell it’s condition when opening the wrapper? When do we again star holding INDIVIDUALS accountable for THEIR actions?
To be clear, the McD’s case was very different. Prior to the suit, it was McD’s practice to over-heat coffee to an almost scalding level. By over-heating cheap beans, you get the flavor.
Many people had been scalded – both from spills and in their mouths. Many of them had sued, and McD’s simply paid them to go away. This was their business practice.
One person decided not to be paid off and took them on in court. The court ruled that the business practice of knowingly allowing their customers to get burned time and time again needed to be punished. The court didn’t necessarily feel that one person’s burn was worth all they awarded, they were forcing McD’s to stop scalding their customers.
When I was a kid and candy bars were still a nickle, I bought a Mr Goodbar and opened it and it was kinda white and had little worms on it…..I did NOT eat it, took it back and got my nickle and have never eaten one since.
Wow really? So who would go so far as to eat a moldy candy bar? Do you not LOOK at the food you eat before shoveling it into your maw? And moldy, really? I’d think it would have been very apparent something was wrong with this bar if it was MOLDY, and yet we ate it anyway? Good Lord woman take some responsibility, IF the candy was bad, and IF you actually ate enough of it to make you sick, without ever realizing you shouldn’t be eating it, there is something intrinsically wrong with you from the start…. just sayin…..
First off, it HAD to taste bad- why continue eating it? Secondly, chocolate rarely ‘goes bad’- while it may be stale, the peanuts may have turned but again, it had to taste bad. Secondly- did she really get sick? Was there any medical treatment? She should have stuck with TWIX (kudos to you Captain Planet- now I too am thinking of a certain episode with candy bars)
Goodbar gone bad. Badbar?
I must state that I am very confused by why someone would eat a moldy candy bar in the first place. One would think that you would look at the product before consuming it, but wait we have all seen the lovly pictures of walmart shoppers so I guess nothing should surprise me.
Does she have a receipt for the purchase?
Shhhh!
She needs more than a receipt. Prove you were sick. Let’s see the emergency room bill and report, the moldy peanuts, toilet bowl reminants, Some sort of proof!
The article states she works at Wal-Mart and was on her break.
Did she even pay for it??
Perhaps she seen the mold, closed her eyes and said hello free money.
She worked there? She was probably the one responsible for properly aging stock.

To be fair to her – I wouldn’t even think that stuff has an expiration date! Good thing I don’t ever eat it anyway…

If she knew it was Moldy why did she eat it? sheesh

Why on earth would she it it. If it is moldy you can taste it, and common really how sick could she get? I would be embarrassed I ate the thing.
Mr. Goodspore
Walmart should settle this like Kramer’s hot coffee lawsuit on “Seinfeld” – a free lifetime supply of Mr. Goodbar!
Now you have me thinking of the candy bar lineup from a different episode. Greatest sitcom ever!
