this debate shouldn’t even be taking place: of course qualified citizens should be free to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights while enjoying the benefits of a city’s public parks. Those parks and public lands are funded by tax payers of which all CCDW holders are. When it comes to upholding the U.S. Constitution, there should be no “options” for local governments to override those Rights. As we have witnessed a decline in violent crime in states where CCDW permits are allowed, we, too, shall see a decline in crimes committed in public parks by allowing lawful citizens their rights to bear arms.

“Put simply, I believe guns in Nashville parks is a bad idea.”

Lets’ put it the way you really mean it:
“I believe legally owned guns, properly carried by law abiding citizens in Nashville parks, is a bad idea.”
    Frimping hypocrite.
