Florida Police Arrest 37 Teens After Vehicle Burglary Spree

Polices in Pensacola Florida recently arrested 37 teenagers for vehicle burglaries.

Assistant police chief Tommi Lyter told the Pensacola News-Journal there were no overarching affiliations among the teens even though there were similarities in their methods.

Lyter said groups of four or five teens went into neighborhoods where they walked through trying car doors. When they found an open one, he said they would ransack the car. He said they’ve stolen change, spare keys and firearms among other items.

Police say some of the suspects have been as young as 14.

Authorities caution people to lock their car doors and to never leave valuables inside.
