That is a horrible analogy for this case. If Uber was selling the cars of its drivers, then I’d agree. An Art Gallery shows and sells the completed work of an artist. Uber is selling the on-going services of a driver using their car.
I think they are more independent contractors than employees only because the drivers choose when they want to work. That’s why they shouldn’t get unemployment benefits since they choose to work or not. Now welfare is a different story……….
