Interstate 95 in and through the State of SC is only two lanes in each direction, they are in absolute run-down, pothole pocked condition and if you should happen to run off the road to avoid another vehicle or for whatever reason, the median and sides of the road are at least as deadly due to dense forestation and swamps that the interstate is built through. I can’t speak to the condition of I-20; I-77; I-85, etc., but if I-95 is any kind of indicator I’m sure they are equally dangerous.
That having been said, I find the criteria used in this “study” to be dubious at best; how does one measure miles traveled without taking a heck of a lot of ‘poetic license’ ??
