Seems to me this should have been Auto Liability in a civil case since there was not an intent to kill anyone. Of course, the limits of liability and possible Umbrella would not make a dent in the settlement, but you can’t get blood out of a turnip.

The parent company is US Express publicly traded company they have the limits to pay the claims, already paid 15,000,000. The company execs where charged based on a GA statue that holds corporations criminally responsible for the actions of their employees.

Perhaps you should read the article and the headline before commenting and downvoting me. No criminal charges to be filed. Let the insurance companies handle it.

        Agent,

Doug is only telling you why it was a possible criminal case and what the auto limits were for the parent company. you need to relax.
