Can someone follow up on this story and report on his sentence? Up to 30 years yes, but I am afraid it may end up being a slap on the wrist i.e. probation. In that case, it would just be a cost of doing business.

That is a first, he hired “an artist” to make the walls look like they were water stained. Wow, perhaps he should have used his creativity to make money the honest way.

I have a public adjuster who insisted on getting the check for the claim on damaged roof, he insisted on signing a release form and notarizing it. The check went to this person, is there any chance he may cash the check? He must retain 10% according to the contract, but I am afraid he may cash all my money, is it possible?

The public adjuster should not be able to cash your check. The insurance companies typically make the checks payable to the insured (you), the public adjusting company, and your mortgage company (if applicable).

Do you know how easy it is to fake check endorsements? If you work long enough in the industry and image all your checks, you have samples of the stamps for most banks. A crooked printing shop can make you a stamp and off you go.
