Really? Is Demotech goofing around again or is there some real issue here? Last year it was “very serious” but it turned out to be much ado about almost nothing.
Here we go again with the sky is falling crap and we never seem to see any carriers lose that beloved “A” rating from Demotech. These 16 carriers all have the LOWEST Demotech rating allowed to still do business in Florida. Most are thinly capitalized and until Demotech grows a pair and drops their rating nothing is going to change and when the next BIG one hits we will have a round of “A” rated carriers that suddenly fail. Why is there no B or C rating with Demotech? simply because carriers would not pay for a B or C rating and the cash cow would go away. Put up or shut up.
So Tower Hill Prime has an AM Best rating but Demotech is concerned?? Let’s face it, if you make payroll, you keep you’re Demotech rating. The only companies I’ve ever seen lose their rating lost it right after they went into receivership.
The rating agency Demotech is solid so instead of bashing a rating agency you better let your clients know the insurers are compromised, unless you can show them a different balance sheet instead of just the juvenile bluster.
