The whole assignment of benefits world is a racket. I’d be surprised if the mob isn’t neck deep in this and every scumbag lawyer and contractor who could, has profited very much from this.
Glad to see one of them being prosecuted. Here’s to throwing the whole gang in jail.

first hurdle after the storm: determine who has a license/insurance/workers comp/suretybond
trust the guy who says “you won’t pay a dime…just use insurance money” Of course you can’t verify his license (because there are 40 different licenses and you don’t know which he has) and in fact he pulls permits with someone else’s license….oh yeah….
then stand by while you see him jack up the total bill…Then fire him and get sued by his lawyer friend….I believe the state of Fl to be negligent in not protecting residents who are getting fleeced. And then the insurance company says “hold it …it may not be an authorized, bona fide AOB!!” Bottom line: there are not enough contractors to put Humpty Dumpty back together again…nor are there enough lawyers interested in helping homeowners. This is a legal swamp that surely needs cleaning up.
