North Carolina Sets Up Insurance Camps, Victim Assistance Centers With FEMA, NFIP

Consumer assistance centers and insurance camps have been set up in areas of North Carolina affected by Hurricane Florence, according to a statement from North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey.

“We are going in to flood-ravaged areas to assist people whose homes and lives have been devastated by Hurricane Florence,” said Causey. “We want to help people get connected with their insurance companies and other agencies who can answer questions and address concerns so they can file insurance claims and can get their lives back on track as soon as possible.”

The Victim Assistance Centers (VAC) were organized with FEMA and the National Flood Insurance Program to help storm victims recover from the damaged incurred by Hurricane Florence. Residents can also get answers to other insurance questions from FEMA, NFIP and NCDOI representatives and connect with the Red Cross and Samaritan’s Purse.

Insurance Camps were also set up with the insurance industry to allow storm victims direct access to their insurance companies and answer their insurance questions.
