50 feet deep and 250 feet long, but it’s not a sink hole ? Bull. It’s a sinkhole and someone is trying to do the property owners a solid by calling it something else. That area of Florida is riddled with sinkholes, up to and including actual caverns, as in real caves !!

Correct Jax and you should know. Sinkholes have been a major problem in Florida for a long time. Had nothing to do with Climate Change either.

        1) The article didn’t mention Climate Change or Global Warming

        2) All sinkholes do have some erosion associated with them

        3) Not everything that erodes meets the definition of a sinkhole

Based on 2 & 3, it could very likely just be erosion and not a sinkhole since you rarely see a sinkhole directly caused by a hurricane.

Based on 2 & 3, but you left out 4, 5,& 6. Since I deal with this exposure quite a bit, I’ve learned a lot more about them than I cared to know. In all likelihood, the sink hole existed for quite some time before an “event”, like massive rain fall from a hurricane, cause the upper layers of soil to finally cave in.
For your edification, not only do all sinkholes have ‘some erosion’ associated with them, that is their sole reason for existing…….it’s nothing but erosion – 100%.
You jump to a lot of conclusions that are very incomplete.
          This is a sinkhole.
