These types of cases (AOB, inflated attorney’s fees, unauthorized work repairs before inspections) have to start trending insurance carriers’ way. Otherwise, a homeowners policy in Florida will have to cost $15,000 and destroy the real estate business here.
I agree. AOB can work, but mostly it is abused by unethical contractors.
Since the contractors are taking an AOB and negotiating coverage and damages, do they have to be licensed public adjuster’s too? if not they should have to be licensed and keep up with CE classes.
No one should be surprised when the cost of insurance in this state becomes astronomical (oh wait, already there)…. Never ceases to amaze me how many morons are in our legislature that could give two shits about how policy impacts the majority of citizens.

And crush our economy they way it did back in 2006-08, before the sub-prime issues even hit.

Lloyd’s can bill back for the unearned discount and cancel the policy for non-payment of premiums too!
When I pay an AOB contractor, they are listed on the check as an additional payee, the mortgage company always gets final say!
