North Carolina Agents Launch Distracted Driving Campaign

The Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) have launched a campaign designed to inform and educate the driving public, especially parents and young drivers, about the peril of distracted driving, which according to the association, causes one in five of every car crash on the state’s roads each year.

To coincide with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) national Distracted Driving Awareness Month, IIANC will be working with independent insurance agents across the state to bring awareness to the peril of driving distracted throughout the month of April. IIANC it will focus on educating about distracted driving in all its forms, such as holding a phone while behind the wheel, grooming, horseplay with passengers, or even being overly tired when driving.

“IIANC is looking forward to bringing awareness to the dangers of distracted driving throughout Distracted Driving Awareness month,” said Monty Ross, Jr., chairman of the IIANC Board of Directors. “Our nearly 1,000 Trusted Choice independent insurance agency members across the state are focused on our community’s safety and well-being and know that this education is the best insurance we can provide for our collective future.”

IIANC and its members will share distracted driving awareness content across social media channels that address the issues of distracted driving along with providing tips and facts to help drive home the message of road safety.

Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina member agencies represent more than one insurance company and can offer clients a wider choice of auto, home, business, life and health coverages.
