I would agree that DeSantis has done a nice job overall. Florida is a big, diverse state that needs good governance. But why fight this battle? Let the cruise lines determine how they want to handle their passengers. Mark.

I realize there are many people who do not wish to get vaccinated against COVID. However, it is a well known fact that illness spreads very quickly on cruise ships. If 30% to 40% of passengers board a cruise ship who have chosen not to been vaccinated, then that ship is a disaster waiting to happen. So the question becomes: do we allow individual freedoms to triumph over what is best for a group?

It is not a fact that COVID-19 spreads easily on a cruise ship and the results of COVID-19 infection on cruise ships is no worse than in the general population.

700 sick in a population of 5000 is only slightly higher than the national average and the mortality rate was substantially less considering the average age of the cruise line population.

Old, infirmary people had a better chance of survival on a cruise ship than in a nursing home in New York.
