Peak6 InsurTech has signed an agreement to acquire Jacksonville-based We Insure Inc., an independent insurance franchise company that has been rapidly expanding in recent years.
“Upon closing, our franchise owners will be able to leverage PEAK6 InsurTech’s advanced technology, niche carrier access and back-end services as We Insure further accelerates growth and significantly expands its footprint nationwide,” We Insure CEO Philip Visali said in a news release.
The news came just as We Insure announced a new real-estate focused operation in Lecanto, Florida, north of Tampa. We Insure Citrus agency, owned by Kevin and Karen Cunningham, will specialize in residential, automobile and commercial lines, particularly for RE/MAX real estate clients.
“For years, forward-thinking real estate agencies have grown by adding ancillary services to their sales offering,” Chris Pflueger, We Insure’s chief development officer, said in a news release.
The announcement came three weeks after We Insure said it had opened another agency in Panama City, Florida.
Peak6 also this year acquired Team Focus Insurance Group, a Sunrise, Florida-based property/casualty insurance firm that includes MacNeill Group, a managing general agency. Team Focus is parent to eight firms in all, including technology firms Focus Technologies and Focus Insurance Services, regional insurer Capacity Insurance Co. and personal lines agency 1st Street Agency and premium finance firm Focus Finance.
PEAK6’s brands now include PEAK6 Capital Management, Apex Fintech Solutions, National Flood Services and Evil Geniuses.
