Internet insurance provider goapply.com has named Jim Brakke chairman of the board. Brakke is president of Laguna Niguel-based Brakke-Schafnitz, Orange County’s largest homeowner and auto insurance agency with 65 employees and over $100 million in premium volume. He was initially recruited by goapply.com’s founder, Brian Horn, who assembled local businessmen to join his Internet venture. Brakke has more than 35 years insurance and successful business experience and holds numerous director positions for profit and non-profit organizations. Other members of the board include Rich Gartrell, president of his own CPA firm and Ian Crockett, president of Hunter Barth Inc., an Orange County advertising and public relations agency. Goapply.com is a full-service financial services web site offering term life mortgages, pre-paid legal insurance, information and lead generation for auto, homeowners and other life insurance products, and health insurance through EhealthInsurance.com. The site is becoming host to independent agent web sites, which will have access to all of goapply.com’s product offerings. }
