ART Insurance Services Announces New TPA Offering for Workers’ Comp Claims

December 3, 2001

Advanced Risk Technologies (ART) Insurance Services, a leader in providing risk management services including loss control, first aid claims administration, and claims management services, announced a new third party administrator (TPA) service for workers’ compensation claims for risk managers and the self-insured employers. The new service is designed to minimize the cost of risk to employers while achieving optimum outcome for injured workers.

The new TPA service is based on best practices for workers’ compensation claims management, and focuses on four key elements: prompt, effective 24-hour/3-point contact with the injured worker, employer, and physician on all lost time claims; immediate investigation to identify and resolve potential issues; realistic reserving to provide a complete picture of the status of a claim; and aggressive and supportive return-to-work programs.

Every TPA-administered plan is custom-designed for the employer’s needs and specific workforce. Additionally, ART has a state-of-the-art computer software system that tracks claims and enables clients with access to claims data via the Internet. With this new system, clients will be able to use the Internet to view claim reserves, payments, and notepad entries. The system will also allow direct entry of employer’s first reports, as well as unlimited access to loss run reporters and the capability to download data and create graphs.

“It is important to view workers’ compensation cost management programs holistically with an understanding of the linkage between the various aspects of workers’ compensation costs,” said Cathy Divodi, vice president of ART. “We view our service with a long-term perspective which helps us provide our clients with a carefully customized plan.”
