California-based Superior Access Insurance Services Inc. has unveiled a new online comparative quoting and application feature for 5,300 of its 8,000 appointed agents writing home and auto insurance in California.
“This is the first instance of instant comparative, personal lines insurance being offered to agents in a single-entry wholesale environment,” Richard Swoy, chairman of SAIS Access, commented.
“California agents looking to write homeowners and personal auto can input the information once and, depending on the risk, will instantly receive up to 12 comparative quotes and completed applications from multiple carriers for their client’s consideration. They can then place that business with Superior Access and the selected insurance company of their choice.
“The agents gain instant access to many of the largest and best insurance companies in the country without having to be appointed by them. They need only be appointed with Superior Access.”
The technology, built by Superior Access’ sister company, SAIS (Superior Access Internet Software), displays real-time rates drawn from several sources, including outside sources and its own proprietary rate tables.
The underwriting treatments and questions have been customized to each carrier’s specific needs and the output (application, quote, supplements, etc.) are generated to replicate the selected carrier’s exact specifications. The user (agent/broker) is unaware that these complex calculations are occurring. They simply enter it once, get 6-12 quotes in five seconds and place the business. The single-entry, comparative auto and home, currently available in California, is being expanded to include 40 states.
“It is our goal to provide every agent and broker in the country with real-time access to everything that they need to satisfy their customers, all in one place,” Mike Mayo, president of SAIS, said.
