Heritage General Agency Hires Mesa and Opens Northern California Office

Emily Lomax, senior vice president, division director of Heritage General Agency has selected Yvonne Mesa, y_mesa@heritagegeneral.com, to open HGA’s northern California office. Mesa comes aboard as assistant vice president and will head the team of professionals to be situated in the Sacramento office. Mesa will be responsible for brokerage, MGA business and serving the needs of HGA current and prospective northern California agents.

Mesa comes aboard with a broad background. She began her career in 1981 at Continental Insurance Company as a commercial lines rater. In 1984, she joined Warren G. Bender Company as commercial customer service representative marketing commercial accounts and also handled their BOP program. In 1987 she moved to Cal-Ag Insurance and rounded out her knowledge at Burns & Wilcox as underwriter/broker. Most recently she was very involved in placing property and casualty business at a large wholesaler in northern California and also managed a book of DIC, E&O and D&O. “Yvonne has a solid background in our core products and has the drive and enthusiasm necessary to spearhead our northern California office. We expect great things from her,” explained Lomax.

Mesa explained, “This is a wonderful opportunity for me. Heritage has great markets and I’ll be able to offer my clients more choices and secure, solid markets. I’m very excited about this opportunity and I anticipate a very smooth transition as I move into my new offices.”
