On Feb. 10, the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Washington, PIA, IBA West, Surplus Lines Association of Washington, WA Council of NAIW, Tacoma Pierce County Insurance Women, Greater Seattle Insurance Professionals are joining forces for an All Industry Day at the Capital. Company sponsors include: American Insurance Association, Farmers, PEMCO, Progressive, Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, State Farm and Safeco.
Last year’s event was attended by over 120 insurance professionals and one-third of the state’s legislators. Participants of the event will earn 4 hours of CE (applied for) while supporting the industry’s legislative efforts. After the CE seminar, there will be a networking reception to give insurance professionals an opportunity to talk about the issues with their legislators in a relaxed setting.
The conference begins with keynote addresses from newly elected Attorney General Rob McKenna and Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler. Wesley Bissett, Senior V.P of IIABA, and Steve Young, Senior V.P. of IBA West, will then give conference participants an update on the national discussion about broker disclosures on compensation. The conference will conclude with a panel of lobbyists and legislators discussing the most pressing legislative issues facing the insurance industry.
