Any one would be better than the crook that holds the office now. He is no better than Quack Bush he should move next door to the Quack.

Gee, Robert…thanks a lot! My tenure as Commissioner saw 120 new companies come to California, real price competition, and many new products introduced. I thought things went pretty well. Commissioner Garamendi and I have never been…close…but you should not throw around accusations about criminality against public officials without some specific evidence. Just because you may disagree with positions held by a politician does not make them guilty of crimes. By the way, it’s “Quackenbush”…not “Quack Bush.”

The California market is still over regulated, though.

That is an opinion I agree with, completely. California law gives the Commissioner significant discretion in how closely he controls the market. Experience has always shown that allowing the market to set pricing has promoted competition and attracted new capital to that market. Conversely, creating uncertainty by discouraging price changes and repeatedly and publicly attacking the industry on all manner of issues will cause market stagnation and capital flight.

I don’t think there is an honest politician out there. Either republican or democrat. They will always pat you on the back with one hand and grab your wallet with the other. Chuck, at least you did some good in letting the companies compete without a whole lot of regulation. You just got greedy and reckless. You shot yourself in the foot. As far as Garamendi goes, I hope he does get the Lt. Governer job, at least we know he will be in a position that has no responsibility and he can’t harm the industry. Maybe we can get Ortiz and Escutia and send them a one way ticket to Guam or farther away as well.

Compman: Reckless, yes, but greed had nothing to do with it. I trusted the wrong person with a complicated and sensitive task and he betrayed that trust. I did not follow the adage from Ronald Reagan…”Trust, but verify.”
That carelessness gave my enemies an opening. It was a very expensive lesson.
You have problems with Garamendi? Wait and see what happens if one of the democrats lining up right now wins the job!
