It was not long ago that this posting had many opinions on credit scoring by insurance companies. If anyone thinks Alstate is the only carrier misusing this information, I have air travel ticket into space for sale. How can the insurance industry sell an image of honesty, fairness and promise to honor our claims, when insurance exec are being charged with crimes. And make no mistake, what Allstate did was a crime. Just look at the cases against AIG, RE Insurance and other carriers across the country. CEO’s, Presidents, greed is out, some of you are going to jail.

This is yet another sad example of how insurance companies go out of their way to maintain the bad reputation they have with the general public. How many times has an agent found himself apologizing to an insured, about company actions that he does not condone and has absolutely no way to prevent. CA Joe is right; it is a crime!

I’ve watched Allstate, both in Texas and in Florida (post 2004 hurricanes), take advantage of their clients by cleverly presenting artificial construction claim settlement estimation values.

Also, to drop 95,000 policy holders, which action directly affects – endangers approximately 256,500 men women and children, is an interesting ‘thank you’ to those 95,000 wage earners.

And now, to arrogantly work the general public psyche regarding fear of loss of personal protection from loss, and work the regulatory system, and negotiate from a almost extortionary like position, is sad.

It’s wondered if all their advertising is to make up for market loss created by their business culture practices.

2004 was a very good year for profiteers.

    2005 may be even better.
