California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi has issued a cease and desist (C&D) order on The Global Healings Society of Puyallup, Wash., following an investigation by the California Department of Insurance (CDI) Investigation Division. The order demands The Global Healings Society to cease and desist transacting any and all insurance business in California.
“We are warning consumers that they are exposed to possible loss without coverage if they have paid for insurance provided by The Global Healings Society also known as The Auto Bond and The Community Financial Bond,” Garamendi said. “These companies are selling fake auto insurance policies and consumers are being warned not to purchase insurance from any of these companies.”
According to the CDI, The Global Healings Society is not licensed to sell and issue auto insurance coverage in California. The investigation revealed that The Global Healings Society has been using the Internet to advertise their automobile “Financial Responsibility Programs.” The Internet sites are identified as www.hehasmore.org and www.globalhealingssociety.org. The Global Healings Society claims a maximum benefit for their auto bond program of up to $1,000,000.00. The fraudulent Internet activities extend to other states.
The CDI urges all consumers and interested parties to check the Department’s website at www.insurance.ca.gov or contact the CDI Consumer Hotline at (800) 927-HELP to verify the license of a company or agent/broker before entering into an insurance transaction.
