State Fund to Host Restaurant Health and Safety Workshop in San Francisco

California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund will sponsor a free restaurant health and safety workshop in San Francisco to help restaurant supervisors and owners design a comprehensive safety training program and comply with state and federal workplace regulations.

Featured speaker for the seminar – sponsored by State Fund’s San Francisco District Office – is occupational and environmental health educator, Diane Bush, who coordinates the Restaurant Supervisor Safety Training Program at U.C. Berkeley’s Labor Occupational Health Program.

All participants will receive various educational materials including training guides, safety tip sheets and safety orientation checklists.

The workshop is designed to help restaurant supervisors and owners to:
*Meet CAL/OSHA training requirements.
*Engage workers in safety programs.
*Identify ways to prevent injuries.
*Provide a one-hour safety-training seminar tailored to their restaurant.

The workshop is scheduled for March 7th from 2 – 4 p.m. at State Fund’s San Francisco District Office. The office is located at 303 2nd Street, 6th Floor, South Tower in San Francisco.
