Better use of Predictive Analytics could identify which farmers are high risk and which inner city folks are low risk and so properly balance the risk and prices. This is what multivariate analysis is all about. Just as with credit, some people with good credit scores are still high risk due to other factors and others with low credit scores are better risks because of their good factors. Analysis should drive not politics. http://edmblog.fairisaac.com/weblog/2006/04/this_is_why_pre.html
In my humble opinion the best thing for all California drivers to do is enlist their elected officials to pass legislation that removes from the list of \”other factors\” that one item that allows insurance companies to use \”where a vehicle is garaged.\” The California Insurance Commissioner has stated he thinks it is unfair and even wanted to do something about and this is the best he can do? Now he is asking for an investigation into alligations that he has been threatened by members of the insurance industry if he doesn\’t hold off implementing the new rule changes and negative campagine ads will be made against him in his bid for the Lt. Governers position if and when he decides to run. If you ask me the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, a non-profit organization, runs the insurance industry and the commissioners and law makers just think they do? Now if we can get the Insurance Commissioner and legislature to make it law everyone has to have medical insurance and work as hard keeping those costs in check hey everyone would have quality health coverage in America at an affordable price, even Rx. Face it Private Automobile Insurance is the bread and butter of the insurance industry and I would imagine there is a lot of money going to important people in both Washington D.C. and Sacramento. But hey, that is just my opinion.
Unfortunately, the fact is that there is direct correlation between where someone lives, how much they earn (or receive), the number of motorists (both insured and uninsured), and the cost of repair (due to the other previous listed factorsd impacting the body shop owner). Now, if we lived in the USSR as Garamendi, Boxer and Feinstein would have it, none of those other factors would even matter!
Garamendi won\’t obey the law anyway. He\’s just a Kennedy/Clinton/Kerry in a commissioner\’s clothing.
