IBA West Installs New Officers, Honors Young with Ramsden /Sullivan Award

Insurance Brokers and Agents of the West installed new officers at its annual meeting on Jan. 31 in Sacramento. New officers include: President Paul Bystrowski, president, CEO and CFO for John O. Bronson; President-Elect Scott Kerns, president of BayRisk Insurance Services; and Secretary-Treasurer Rick Dinger, president of Crescenta Valley Insurance.

New directors include: Northern California Regional Director Kevin Baker of Suhr Risk Services of California; Southern California Regional Director Steven Shea of Barney & Barney; PNW Chapter Director Robert Wolz of Marsh Inc.; and Associate Member Director Jack Miller of Zenith Insurance.

Additionally, the Ramsden/Sullivan Memorial Award was presented to Stephen L. Young, senior vice president and general counsel for the association. The award is the most prestigious honor the association can bestow on an individual and recognizes someone who exemplifies the highest caliber of service to the American Agency System, the insurance industry and the community, according to the association.

“For almost 20 years now, Steve has brought the highest standards to all corporate legal matters affecting the nonprofit trade association and its various subsidiaries,” IBA West said in a statement. “With his notable expertise in insurance law, Steve coordinates the association’s involvement in litigation affecting the business of insurance and insurance producers, and provides legal research and support to the association’s legislative advocates.”
