    I valued my Travelers and Safeco appointments because they were hard to get and I had to live up to the production requirements. They were markets I protected with only my business, trying to make sure I received profit sharing money.

    Now any agent can place any crap business they want with these companies, I guess the soft market is still with us when these companies are only going after premium volumne. What about profit?

    Hey:
    I understand your plight. I am in your boat as well but after raising these issues the Travelers and Safeco, these general agents are treated just like you and me. If they place unqualified business and the losses begin to mount, they will end the relationship. To be honest, you and me probably write twice as much Travelers and Safeco business than this general agency….I have asked my territory managers this question and they have shared some information. You have nothing to worry about. Once this market goes hard, you will be very pleased and I look too look forward to a change in this climate
