San Diego Cavignac & Assoc. Promotes Wager to Surety Manager

Margie Wager has been promoted to surety department manager at Cavignac & Associates, a San Diego-based risk management and commercial insurance brokerage firm.

In her new position, Wager will manage the firm’s surety department personnel and operations. She also assumes full responsibility for the handling and servicing of all surety customer accounts, which involves underwriting financials to specific bond requests, marketing accounts and managing the various surety systems.

Wager has been with Cavignac & Associates since 2002, and previously served as senior account manager. Wager has more than 25 years of experience in the surety industry. She began her career in 1977 with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Cos. Through the years, she has worked for several diverse national companies, including Industrial Indemnity and the St. Paul Cos.

Wager received her associate’s degree in business administration, with honors, from California’s Fullerton College. She also completed her certificate for levels one, two and three from the NASBP Surety School in Houston, along with CPCU 8 Accounting and Finance. Additionally, she has earned the CRIS designation and a fire and casualty broker-agent license. Currently she is pursuing her Associates in Fidelity and Surety Bond designation.

In addition to being a member of the Surety & Fidelity Association of America, Construction Financial Management Association, National Association Surety Bond Producers, Associated General Contractors and Southern California Contractors Association, Wager also serves on the charity committee at Cavignac & Associates.
