Having managed programs that insured more of the state’s financially challenged drivers in a 90-day period than the Low Cost Auto Program has done since its inception, one has to wonder how much of the Commissioner’s press release is more about politics than having crafted an insurance solution that addresses a true insurance need.

I agree Steve. There must be something in the water at the DOI building. First Quackamendi the attention ***** and now Poizner. It’s almost impossible to tell them apart.

Wow Steve & Compman – You both offer annual auto insurance for less than $300? Why don’t you guys advertise and let everyone know? Or is it the lack of uninsured drivers who need this sort of insurance preventing you from selling your product?

Trying to pass this dog off as insurance is the real joke. If 15/30/5 is the state minimum legal limit, how does this program get away with 10/20/3.

Go ahead and knock yourself out Silly. All the work and headache for a $30 commission? People choose to be uninsured. They would rather spend the money on 21inch rims with spinners and plasma tv’s.

How about including 18 year olds in the California Low Cost Insurance Program?

A student just graduating from High School that has a GPA of 3.89, no accidents and is in need of a low cost insurance policy so that student can go to college full time and then go to work.

The student has no parents to fall back on for financial support and is living off the scholarships he/she earned while working hard during the high school years to enable them a chance to continue with their education and get a good paying job
once their college degree is obtained.

Why is the program now just for 19 and above? There are 18 year olds that are mature enough to drive responsibly and not have tickets for dui, traffic violations, etc. They should be given the same opportunity as the 19 and above age group for low cost auto insurance.
